About the Wild Card Competition
The AICR (the association of Front Office and Hotel Managers) who founded the annual World’s Best Receptionist competition, are delighted to increase the global reach of their talent search by making it easier than ever for a receptionist to enter the contest.
They are proud to announce the launch of a new category which will open up the worldwide search for the winner. This new initiative is a milestone for the competition, embracing and appreciating the hidden talent of our hotel receptionists regardless of their location in the world.
About the Wild Card Competition
Any hotel receptionist, from four and five-star hotels, who do not have a national competition in their country, are encouraged to apply for a chance to win the coveted global title. This is their opportunity to showcase their country, themselves and to demonstrate their amazing talent and excellent service skills.
Receptionists who work in a country where there is an established AICR section and national contest will continue to enter their local contest.

To enter the competition, please complete the below form, thereafter, please make sure to email your video through to us. You could use Wetransfer when sending the file.

Instructions for your video resume:
- Introduce yourself.
- What is your motivation in joining this competition?
- What makes the role of the receptionist special to you?
- Let your personality shine out and show your creativity!
- Your video should NOT exceed five (5) minutes.
Submission of the video resume:
- This video resume will be a pre-recorded video.

17 December 2021. - The format of the video must be in .mp4 in FULL HD (1080), landscape view, interview style, no background music and no overlays.
Please note that all applicants MUST HOLD THE POSITION OF RECEPTIONIST at the time of application.
All application forms must be accompanied with the candidate’s CV (English) and this form signed by the General Manager or Front Office Manager for validity.
All candidates will be required to submit a video resume by 17 December 2021. Round 2 of the competition will take place during the period from 3 – 10 Jan 2022. The shortlisted candidates will be required to log into an online platform for Round 2 of the competition. Results of the competition will be announced on 14 January 2022. Please note that the videos could be used for marketing purposes and as training material.

Requirements
A standard application form has to be completed by the candidate and must include the signature of the Front Office Manager OR the signature of the General Manager – to ensure authorization and support.
The Candidate
At the time of the wildcard competition, the candidate must be in the position of a receptionist (not Chef de Brigade etc.) and available to participate throughout the entire period of the competition. Also, the overall winner of the competition must agree and commit to being on the judging panel for the following year’s competition.
One page brief CV/personal profile of the candidate to be forwarded with the application form, in advance, to the World’s Best Receptionist Co-ordinators.
The Competition Format
This year’s wildcard competition will be 100% online and will consist of two rounds:
Round 1 – Video Resume
Round 2 – Short-listed candidates will proceed to Interview on Zoom
