Requirements, New Judging Format and General Information
Dear Candidate
Congratulations on deciding to compete in this year’s Amicale Internationale des Sous Directeurs et Chefs de Reception des Grand Hotels (AICR) Wildcard competition. Below you will find more information on this exciting competition and details on how to complete and submit your application!
The Competition
Wildcard is a multi-stage competition designed for countries and candidates not yet represented by a formal section of the international AICR. You will compete against superb Reception talent from across the globe, with the winner of the competition going on to attend and compete for the coveted World’s Best Receptionist title, held in Brussels, at the 2026 international congress.
First Stage
Your completed CV, S-Rate feedback and application form together with your submitted video will be reviewed by our expert panel of judges. The deadline for submission is end of day on Friday 22nd August, 5PM BST.
Final Stage
The final stage will be a combination of interviews and a ten-minute presentation which successful candidates will be provided a scenario on. These will be taking place virtually via Zoom and will be held between the 22nd and 29th September. All finalists should dial in, in full uniform.
Wildcard Award Ceremony
Following the final stage the results of the competition will be announced at the end of September. All finalists and their nominating managers are requested to attend the ceremony which will be held online.
AICR Congress Brussels 2026
The Wildcard winner will go on to compete internationally against the winning Receptionists from all the other AICR sections, for the coveted title of World’s Best Receptionist where the winner will receive the David Campbell trophy. This will be held in Brussels, January 2026.

Application Process
- All video submissions must be accompanied with the candidate’s CV (English), S-Rate feedback and the form signed and dated by the General Manager or Front Office Manager for validity.
- Scan and send your signed and dated application form along with your video, CV and S-Rate feedback to rachaelstevens@aicrinternational.org
- The closing date for applications is Friday 22nd August 2025.
- You will receive an entry number as confirmation that your application has been received.
- Please contact us should you not receive your entry number by Monday 25thAugust 2025.
